Cecil Demanett, 96, of Creswell died Jan. 30, 2022.
Cecil was born June 23, 1925 in Bend, Ore. to Andrew and Beatrice Peterson. She married Harry Louis Demanett on Aug. 2, 1947 in Arvada, Colo. Cecil and Harry made their home in Creswell. She was a proud homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and canning, making quilts for family and friends, sewing, crocheting, going to antique shows and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She belonged to the Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation in Creswell.
Cecil’s family will always treasure memories of family gatherings to make homemade ice cream, bonfires in “the back forty,” playing card games and baseball, trips to Sunriver and riding bikes, grandma’s rocking chair, her love of animals, her laugh and sense of humor and two-armed hugs that lasted for “at least a count of three.”
Survivors include two sons, Sam Demanett (Cindy), and Tim Demanett (Debbie); grandchildren, Josh Demanett (Hillary), Isaac Demanett (Misty), Micah Demanett (Jazmine), Malachi Demanett (Kirsten), Carly Demanett and Hayley Demanett, as well as her six great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Brumbaugh Cemetery in Cottage Grove.
