Steve Prechtel, 68, peacefully passed away on March 3, 2018. Steve was surrounded by loved ones as he moved on from this life.
Steve was born on Sept. 10, 1949 in Cottage Grove to Elmer and Jane Prechtel.
He served in the Army and was a Vietnam Vet. He also served many years in the National Guard Reserves.
Steve spent several years as a logger. As that industry faded Steve went back to school and became a respiratory therapist. He was well respected in his field.
A lifelong musician, Steve played guitar and also collected guitars. Steve also loved history, collecting guns and all things Harley Davidson. Steve could often be found riding in the wind on his Harley.
Steve is survived by his sons, Christopher and Stephen; his daughter Shannon; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brothers, Donald and Roger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at Creswell Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2 p.m.
