Marjorie M. Jonas of Springfield Ore., formerly of Jackson, Mich., and Niceville, Fla., passed away Sept. 20, 2021 at the age of 92. “Marge” was born Marjorie Maxine Byers and raised in Coldwater, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Donald W. Jonas, her son Donald D. Jonas and many members of the Jonas and Byers families.
Marge is survived by her daughter Juli Jonas, grandson Barry Jonas, daughter-in-law Carol Jonas and several nieces and nephews. Marge had a long, rewarding career as an accountant and data-processing manager at the Eaton Corporation in Jackson. She loved to golf (except for the tee shot over the water on the 9th hole at Rocky Bayou), cook, bake, garden and above all socialize. Marge belonged to several golf groups and had countless friends who adored her. She thought of others above all else, loved to laugh and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of everyone she touched. Marge has requested no memorial service, to be cremated and her ashes placed alongside her husband’s.
