Green eggs and ham was the featured treat as Creslane kindergartners celebrated the birthday of beloved children’s author, Dr. Seuss on March 2.
Kids sampled the colorful snack made famous by Dr. Seuss’ book ”Green Eggs and Ham,” then glued colored paper ”eggs” and ”ham” onto a paper plate and wrote on the back the phrase that reflected their taste-testing experience: ”I do like green eggs and ham” or ”I do not like green eggs and ham.”
They also made paper ”Cat in the Hat” hats and listened to Dr. Seuss stories.
Born Theodor Seuss Geisel on March 2, 1904, Dr. Seuss passed away on Sept. 24, 1991, at age 87. He authored 44 children’s books filled with ingenious rhymes, whimsical characters and fantastical machines. His mission was to promote literacy and encourage imagination while making reading fun and exciting for kids.
