Paul Kwake: Oct. 10, 1945 – Aug. 31, 2021

Paul Kwake of Springfield, Ore. died Aug. 31, at age 75 of COVID-pneumonia. He was born Oct. 10, 1945, to Stanley and Helen (Janor) Kwake in New York, N.Y.

Paul maintained his Christian faith throughout the years.

Paul was a business owner, a licensed electrician, built homes and duplexes, and ran Adult Foster care homes.

In his youth, Paul enjoyed surfing in California, and sports – he won the state of California championship title for wrestling in high school and also received Boy Scout honors.

Paul loved camping, bowling, water sports, snow and water skiing, scuba diving, horseback riding, antique cars, riding quads and motorcycles with family and friends, traveling the world and he loved history. Paul especially loved spending time with his family and grandkids.

His greatest achievement was getting the grandpa of the year award from his grandkids!

He is survived by his wife Terri, daughters; Yvonne R. Fonger, Karen K. Cota, Rebecca D. Reece, and Christi A. Bonertz, sons; Paul N. Kwake, and Lucas A. Long, sister; Diane Brooks, brothers; Robert (Bob) Kwake, and Stanley Kwake, 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9 from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 10 from 8-9 a.m. at Major Family Funeral Home, 112 N. A St., Springfield. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 28957 W. 18th Ave., Junction City, OR 97448.
