Kiwanis formally dedicates benches

PHOTO PROVIDED

CRESWELL – Dedicated memorial benches for Denny Olsen and Connie Dersham on Wednesday, July 21, at the Creswell Heritage Foundation’s Old Schoolhouse site at 295 S. 2nd St. Olsen’s bench is on the left and Dersham’s is on the right. Denny’s surviving wife Brenda Olsen and Connie’s surviving husband Roni Dersham are on the benches with family and friends.

CRESWELL – The Coast Fork Kiwanis Club completed installation of memorial benches in front of the Creswell Heritage Foundation.

The benches with memorial plaques were installed at the expense of the local Kiwanis Club after consultation with the CHF. Both former members were users of the historic schoolhouse/library in earlier years.

Brenda Olsen noted that she and Denny use to take their grandchildren to the historic building when it was functioning as the community’s library.

Visitors are welcome to Kiwanis meetings and events and the Coast Fork Club is expanding its membership in Creswell and Cottage Grove. Contact Don Ehrich at [email protected] for information on meetings and membership.
