Obituaries & Tributes

Martha Ann Money: March 15, 1951 – June 4, 2021

Martha was born in Santa Barbara, Calif. She was a twin. She and her sister Linda were born early and  spent their first two weeks in the hospital.

Linda passed away in 1977. Her death deeply impacted all of us. Mom died in 2016. Martha was still grieving the loss of her mother, Aili.

The sisters graduated from Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach in 1969. Martha enjoyed a few semesters at San Francisco City College. Her emphasis was on dance.

She had lived in Creswell and Cottage Grove. Battling arthritis, she would put her kitty in the stroller and take the kitty for a walk.

She never had children of her own. She will be remembered as a loving auntie to her niece Lindy Rose, to Kay Noel, and to Willie.

She was not quite ready to pass away. Only 70. But she never succeeded in quitting smoking. Upon her death, we found a fresh pack of smokes. Next to her O2 concentrator. Twenty hard years of sobriety, so her time was up. Her bible. On the floor. An easy exit? Looked like it was easy. How kind was your Lord?

Martha is survived by her sister Sue.

Martha’s ashes are traveling to Santa Barbara, where her mother’s and sister’s ashes are interred, together.

Remembrances to the Humane Society. Most of all. She loved her kitty.
