Creswell is right place to learn for summer internship

Plahn

Hello, I’m a lifelong Fall Creek resident, will be entering my junior year at Lowell High School this fall and will be interning with The Chronicle this summer.

My mom and grandparents all went to Lowell HS and I have loved living in a small town with a close-knit community. While my community might be a little smaller than the Creswell area, I have always found it nice to be in a place where everybody knows everybody.

Another reason I have loved living in Fall Creek is the local lakes and reservoirs that are great for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. I have always loved going to the Fall Creek Reservoir and floating the creek near my house.

One of my favorite things about Creswell and the area are all the local restaurants and businesses. My grandma would always love to load up my siblings and me in her car to drive to Creswell to go to the Creswell Bakery. We would ride back in her car filled up with the smell of meat pies and hot pretzels that were dinner for the night, begging to eat just one before we made it back to her house. With meat pies and baked goods coming out of our ears, we would finally all make it home to eat these delicious goodies, before they were all gone.

I play volleyball, softball, and basketball and have always loved sports. I have played sports my entire life, which led me to start writing a sports column for another local news organization and I have been lucky enough to be able to continue doing what I enjoy with The Chronicle.

I am looking forward to getting to know more about the local community and this newspaper.
