Elizabeth Marie Miller: July 15, 1921 – May 4, 2021

Elizabeth Marie Miller of Springfield, Ore., was born on July 15, 1921, to James and Elizabeth Callaghan in Eugene and passed away May 4, 2021.

She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and remained in the Eugene/Springfield area. Elizabeth and Conrad Miller were married and together raised 4 children in the house Conrad built.

Elizabeth was a devoted Catholic, loving mother/grandmother, an active volunteer and global traveler. She was active in the community and worked for the Register-Guard in the advertising department, attended St. Alice church from early 1950-2015 before moving to St. Paul’s in the neighborhood. Volunteering at Fish Food Pantry and St. Vincent de Paul exemplified the kindness and care she gave anyone who crossed her path.

She was known for saying, “You have to keep moving” something she did until she passed – she enjoyed water aerobics, walking, swimming and more recently chair exercises. In her 70s she started wood carving classes at Willamalane, other hobbies included cooking, gardening, and travel.

Elizabeth was survived by her children Donna McCown, Connie Running (Steve), Gary Miller (Louise) and Becky Russel (Paul), and 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
