Monday, June 14 marked the last week of school for Creswell High School, and both seniors and staff celebrated their last few bonding moments with a game of softball.

In a friendly competition of seniors vs. staff, principal Jenny Collins said she scored a run, and “needed oxygen” after running the bases.

Athletic director Brandon Standridge noted that staff member Tyler Hollingsworth pitched a “perfect” first inning, and to preserve that record did not pitch for the rest of the game.

Standridge, a lefty, sent the ball over the right field fence for a home run.

Senior Jackson Velarde flashed his arm strength from right field; Josiah Lee displayed his speed on the basepaths, beating out a throw from shortstop to reach first base, Collins said.

She said “the staff held out with experience and exceptional ball skills for the win in a well-fought game.”
