CRESWELL – A Lane County Sheriff’s deputy assigned to Creswell developed a search warrant that led to the arrest of an unnamed suspect. The LCSO is working on a sex-crime case, and the search warrant also revealed there were several firearms, which were seized. The target resident is a felon and on parole supervision. He was lodged in jail for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and a Parole Violation.
Police are not releasing his name at this time to preserve the original case the search warrant was written for, said Sgt. Scott Denham.
Additionally, there was a pursuit Sunday by Springfield Police involving a motor home that began on Jasper Road and ended when the motor home was spiked on Emerald Parkway.
The driver stopped on Dale Kuni in front of the golf course and “after several minutes of loud hailing, the driver exited and was taken into custody” for several charges, Denham said. The case will be handled by SPD.
Lane County Fair returns: Lane County Fair organizers announced on Tuesday, May 25, that the event will return July 21-25.
“While our No. 1 priority is the safety of our guests, staff, vendors and partners, fans can still expect all the usual sights, sounds, thrills and smells of the Fair,” organizers stated in a news release. “From carnival rides to outdoor vendors, creative exhibits to large and small animals, mouthwatering Fair goodies and big name concert entertainers. We may be a bit more spread out than other years but we are still packing the same great entertainment and memory making moments into every day of the Fair.”
Event leaders said their “foremost focus is to create a safe and fun event for everyone who attends the Fair.”
