Suzanne J. Carlile, 80, of Estacada, Ore. passed away on Feb. 6, 2021 after a long illness. She was born in Cottage Grove, Ore. on Sept. 29, 1940 to parents Faye and Virginia (Metcalf) Stewart. Suzanne graduated high school. She married Gary Solomon in 1958, and they later divorced. She married Robert Carlile on June 7, 1963. Suzanne loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was on the Estacada School Board Budget Committee for four years and was instrumental in the Busted Loggers organization that helped injured loggers with medical assistance. Suzanne is survived by her children, Virginia Johnson and husband David, Michael Solomon and wife Jennifer, Rachel Lucas and husband Patrick, Ruth Day, Rhett Carlile and wife Tiffanie; brother Bruce Stewart; sister Mary Gurney; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. She was preceded in death by husband Robert Carlile in 1994. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove.
