Lane is one of 15 counties moving to Extreme Risk on Friday, April 30, where it will stay until at least May 6, Gov. Kate Brown announced Tuesday.
The level change means that indoor dining is prohibited, though outdoor capacity limits for bars, restaurants and other sectors will be raised from 50 to 100 people, with health-and-safety measures in place.
It also means that:
Indoor entertainment and recreation be limited to six or less;
Outdoor recreation, fitness and outdoor entertainment is not to exceed 50 people;
Outdoor full-contact sports be allowed within guidance;
Retail store capacity cannot exceed 50%; and
No more than six people or two households at outdoor gatherings
Any updates to risk levels next week will be announced on Tuesday, May 4 and take effect on Friday, May 7. Counties that improve their COVID-19 metrics will have the opportunity to move to a lower risk level. Counties will remain in Extreme Risk for a maximum of three weeks.
In regards to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, providers in Oregon may now resume its use, so long as providers ensure that recipients or their caregivers receive the new warning information regarding thrombosis and thrombopenia. On April 13, the federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommended a pause on use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine following reports of rare and serious blood clots in a small number of people, out of the approximately 7.5 million people who’d been vaccinated at the time.
