Mary Grace Young, 80, died on March 18, 2021 in Springfield, Ore. She was born in a small town in Humboldt County, Calif. to Jack and Emma (Felt) Albee.
She married her husband of 47 years, Glenn Edward Young, on March 21, 1964 in Eureka, Calif. They had two children, Frederick Scott Witham of Medford, Ore. and Jeffrey Glenn Young of Eugene, Ore. Glenn predeceased her on May 14, 2011.
Mary enjoyed an active life spent with friends and family camping, RV-ing, golf and boating and water skiing. In her later years she continued to golf and was involved in various bowling leagues. She was a longtime member of Shadow Hills Country Club.
Mary had an amazing career in banking, starting as a secretary at the bank in 1968. She was quickly promoted and held various managerial positions and retired in 2006 as a vice president with Wells Fargo. She was very involved in the Eugene/Springfield community and spent time on the Eugene Downtown Committee, Boy Scouts, YMCA and was on the board of Pacific Source.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Jeff, and his wife Dione, and Scott, and his wife Yan. She is survived by two brothers, David Albee of Ruth, Calif. and Jack and Cyndie Albee of Grants Pass, Ore. Her older brother Joseph Albee of Hydesville, Calif. predeceased her in death and is survived by his wife Fran Albee. She had four grandchildren, Justin and Jacob Young, Cody Witham and Pan Mei Liang. She had one great-grandchild, Jordan Young.
A private inurnment will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
