Stephen F. Schnee went to join the Lord on Feb. 19, 2021 – a life gone too soon due to cancer.
Stephen was born to Edgar and Lillian Schnee on May 25, 1953 in Eugene, Ore. He was raised in Springfield and loved the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many trips on the McKenzie River learning from his dad to fish and teaching his sons, nephews and nieces to fish, fully enjoying the river and all it had to offer. Stephen was also an avid hunter. He enjoyed bow and arrow hunting and taught his sons, grandsons and granddaughters to hunt. He was brought up in a family of six sisters, and had so much fun with snakes and various creatures that would make his sister’s laugh and scream. All of his sisters will miss him dearly.
Stephen was married in 1975 to Kris Hayley and had two sons, Christopher and Nathan Schnee. Years later, he had a son, Ryan, with Zodelle Halberg.
Stephen is survived by his son Christopher (Evette) Schnee and their four children, Devin, Daisy, Ashley and Chamber; a new great-granddaughter, Ayvah; son Nathan (Ashley) Schnee; grandson Zane Schnee; granddaughter Ellie; son Ryan; and two granddaughters, Whitney and Emery Schnee. He is also survived by his mother, Lillian Schnee-Johansen; sisters Karen (Bob) Farrand, Eileen Schnee, Vanessa (Gary) Mervin, Reba Schnee-Banks and Cynthia Howard; three nieces, Joleen, Heather and Amy; and nephews Clark, Mark, Stephen, David, Jed, Luke, Jeff, Kyle, Heath and Cory. His father Ed Schnee and sister Sheri Schnee (Johansen) preceded him in death.
Stephen will be missed and loved.
