Betty Stanley: Oct. 16, 1933 – Feb. 9, 2021

Betty Stanley, of Cottage Grove, Ore., went to see the Lord on Feb. 9, 2021. She was 87.

She was born to John and Madie Hudson on Oct. 16, 1933 in Wilmar, Calif. The family lived in the L.A. area until 1941, then moved to Indigo, Calif., for four years. They moved to Cottage Grove, where she went to school and met her husband Bill Stanley. They were married for 56 years, until his passing.

Bill and Betty owned and operated Stanley’s Christmas Trees for many years. It was a family tradition of fond memories. Betty’s beautiful handmade wreaths were sold out every year.

She was a member of the McKenzie River Artists’ Guild in which many of her paintings were displayed, sold and donated.

She loved family events of fishing, hunting and camping.

She is survived by her brother Bill (Pat) Hudson of Eugene; sister Anita Caywood of Sandy, Ore.; her children Terry (John) Nicholas of Veneta and Patty (John) Ringer of Eugene; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

We thank all the family at Gateway Living for all the care and love they gave to Mom and ask that all donations go to dementia and Alzheimer’s foundations. A private ceremony will be held in the future.
