Robert Louis ‘Bob’ Widmer: Dec. 19, 1955 – Nov. 28, 2020

A memorial will be held March 9, 2021 for Robert Louis “Bob” Widmer, Jr., 64, a longtime Creswell resident, who passed away Nov. 28, 2020 from complications of COVID-19.

Bob was born in Eugene on Dec. 11, 1955 to Robert and Kathryn Widmer. He graduated from Creswell High School in 1974 and briefly attended college. He married Deborah Perini in 1984 and they had three children. They divorced in 1993. Bob loved football and coached several teams at the middle and high school level. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Oregon Ducks. He also loved reading, history, and fishing, hiking, and hunting.

He is survived by his daughters: Katie Capps of North Las Vegas, Nev., Jocie Bell of Troup, Texas, and Jaimee Widmer of Eugene; four grandchildren: KC, Rider, and Rosalie Bell of Troup, Texas, and Aidan Widmer of Eugene; his mother, Kay Widmer of Cottage Grove; his sisters, Kriss Renfro of Evans, Wash., Mary Hass of Creswell, and Sharon Heater of Creswell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

The outdoor memorial service will be held March 9 at noon, at the Village Green, 725 Row River Rd., Cottage Grove, OR 97424. The service will also be streamed online. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to Creswell Public Library.
