LeRoy Randall

LeRoy Martin Randall, 77, passed away on Dec. 3, 2020. He was born Aug. 26, 1943 to Charles and Alice Randall, of Springfield, Ore.

The third born of four boys, LeRoy was raised in the Mill Street school area of west Springfield. He was a member of the first graduating class of the newly built Thurston High School in 1961.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1962 and excelled in his training as an air traffic controller at the Yuma air station in Arizona.

After his military service he worked in the plywood industry holding supervisory positions at several local mills, he then worked for the plywood association in the southeastern United States before returning to Oregon.

Before retiring he worked as a government contractor at sites in Nevada. Leroy married Ramona Brinkley in 1969 and they later divorced.

He is survived by his son Tom; granddaughter Hazel of Eugene; brothers Larry and Ron; and sister-in-law Fawn, all of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Phil. Known for his quick wit, love of family and friends and all of Oregon sports. He was always a Marine. “Semper Fi.”
