Jerry Lee Lister

My dad, Jerry Lee Lister, died November 27, 2020. Born in Fruitland, Idaho, to Walter and LaVeller Lister, who have preceded him in death, they settled in Lowell, Ore., when my Dad was 4. He joined the Navy in ’56 and returned home in ’59 when he met our mother, Julia Cordova, who preceded him in death also. They married in ‘60 and had two children, David Lister (Patty) and Debra Sowle (“Bob”), and 14 years later they had another daughter, April, who kept them young in their older age. Mom had two kids she brought into the marriage, Connie Lund and Tom Lister; they were 4 and 3 when my dad adopted them. My Dad was never idle, he always worked hard to give his family everything, they never went without. He was a good provider, a wonderful husband and an excellent Dad. We miss you so much, Dad! My Dad was a great man, well-liked, he loved to play golf with his buddies, and while playing with Debra he got a hole-in-one!! The love of his life were his cats! He had lots of them, his cats, neighbor cats, stray cats, they all knew where to get a good meal, at my dad’s. He’d have a smorgasbord of several flavors to choose from. They are lost without you, Dad, we all are, you are more than missed. He loved his animals, the hummingbirds, the squirrels, he knew every habit they had.

He attended Hillside Baptist Church where he loved to worship. We love you so much, Dad! A celebration of life will happen after this Covid thing. Have fun in heaven, Dad.
