Robert “Bob” Wallace Currier

Robert “Bob” Wallace Currier, 76, of Creswell, Oregon passed away November 29, 2020. Bob was born on May 17, 1944 to Robert E. and Eleanor D. (Gately) Currier in Willimantic, Connecticut. After earning a high school diploma, Bob joined the U.S. Army Infantry where he served for 22 years and earned the rank of Sergeant First Class and served in Vietnam from 1967-1968. On January 18, 1969, Bob married Mary Schacht. After returning to civilian life, Bob worked as a Corrections Officer for the Lane County Sheriff’s Office. 

Bob was an avid reader of military history and was a sports fan, supporting the University of Oregon Women’s Basketball and Lacrosse teams. He volunteered for the Special Olympics and for South Lane Meals on Wheels as a driver. He was also a member of the VFW Post 3473 in Cottage Grove. Bob loved his family and was the proud owner of a 1964 Ford Mustang. 

Bob is survived by his wife Mary and daughter Irene Mady of Creswell, Oregon, his son Donald Currier of Madras, Oregon, along with five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
