Obituaries & Tributes

Anthony Boyce Day

Anthony Boyce Day, of Cottage Grove, Ore., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 12, 2020 due to what may have been another stroke.

Tony survived a severe hemorrhagic stroke in August of 2009, leaving him disabled. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Tony managed his disability with strength and as much humor as possible. He wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible.

Tony was a father first and loved his children more than life. He loved his wife unconditionally from day one and every day after. Tony required honesty from himself, even incriminating himself at times, but always honest.

Tony worked at NAPA in Cottage Grove for many years as a parts man. He loved telling jokes and being a part of the community. In his spare time, you could find him listening to loud music or watching a crazy funny comedy, sharing all the things he loved with those around him. He was always there to help someone in need.

Tony was born to Sandra and Thomas Day on Nov. 11, 1972. Tony is survived by his father and stepmother, two brothers and three sisters, his five children, his wife, and three grandchildren.

Tony has told his last inappropriate joke, that which cannot be printed here. The family held a private viewing last weekend by those that were closest to his heart.

The family asks that any donations made in Tony’s honor go toward his family’s needs to live. Tony, although disabled for many years, still provided for his family every way he knew how. With him gone new struggles will come, and we ask only that you give what you can be it time, money, or resources. It is what Tony would do for anyone when he was here with us.
