Rotary International leaders who lead District 5110, which includes the Cottage Grove’s club, are responding with several action steps in the wake of COVID-19 restrictions to help keep its clubs’ local projects and fellowship alive.
For instance, more leaders are holding online meetings with a secure Zoom account.
“We are seeing many of our clubs moving to creative meetings online with speakers, training and learning opportunities,” District governor Rick Olson said. “It may help create the next interactive experience as a future way of Rotary.”
District leadership has postponed its nomination deadline for club and individual awards until June 30. “We will be working to create a future celebration in the early fall to allow those special recognitions to be awarded,” Olson said.
District Rotary Foundation Committee chair Tim Mobley is working on online gatherings for the Foundation/Grants Committee as work items are required and aiming for a September kickoff.
Judy Corwin and the District’s Public Image Team are adding a Covid-19 blog to the District 5110 website where clubs and members can share information, resources and ideas for how Rotarians can continue to gather using various online platforms.
