Nancy Joy Clingenpeel

An interment graveside celebration for Nancy will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 25 at West Lawn Memorial Park, 225 S. Danebo, Eugene.

Nancy was born in Bellingham Washington and spent her growing up years in Washington.  She met her husband Arthur Clingenpeel at a friend’s wedding. She was 16 at the time. After a short romance, they were married on September 14, 1951. Arthur was in the US Navy stationed at Whidbey Island. They traveled to California, Maryland, Japan, Okinawa, New Jersey, Washington D.C., South Carolina, and Spain during their military years. Upon Art’s retirement, they returned to Eugene, Oregon, Art’s hometown. Nancy did childcare in her home for many years and worked as a hospitality worker in a couple of local motel/hotels.

Nancy enjoyed being with her family, camping and bowling. She belonged to a CB group as “Bluebird” for many years. She was the Karaoke Queen of Lane County with Art in their business MyWorld Karaoke for 13 years. She loved to socialize and mingle with people.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and her husband Arthur “Art”. Surviving her are her 5 children, Roxanne Cole of Eugene, Teresa Thompson of Eugene, Richard Clingenpeel of Springfield, Cheryl Pimentel of Springfield, Gayle King of Junction City, and their spouses. Nancy had 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 2 great-great children.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in her name can be made to the American Heart Association.
