Edward (Ed) Metz, 75, of Cottage Grove, Oregon, passed away on August 1, 2020. He was born on October 29, 1944, to Edward and Edwina (Sweeney) Metz in Newark, New Jersey.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Metz, his son Daniel (Melissa) Metz, daughter Heather (Michael) Ralston, sisters Margaret Hourihan, Ruth Miller, Elaine Couch and brother William Metz, as well as 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by Edward Dale Metz (son).
Ed worked in car sales and management for Uncle Bud’s Chevrolet, Holloman Ford and Brad’s Chevrolet and received many sales awards from General Motors over the years.
In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding Goldwing motorcycles. He enjoyed watching old monster, Kung-Fu and Sci-Fi movies and listening to music with his grandkids. He loved spending time supporting his children and grandchildren by attending their sports events and engaging in their hobbies.
Ed was a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Order of The Arrow and Goldwing Touring Association.
