Good Food Easy makes it easier

CRESWELL – Erica Trappe, owner of Good Food Easy, wants to make it especially easy to eat healthy in light of the Coronavirus outbreak.
Seven miles west of Creswell, out on Camas Swale, Trappe’s gardens grow year-round. Trappe grows and buys fresh, organic vegetables and herbs and sells them through the weekly subscription Community Supported Ag (CSA) food boxes and area farmers markets and also delivers weekly to Springfield, Creswell and Eugene.
But in light of the Coronavirus outbreak, Trappe said she was struck by an idea in the middle of the night by the desire to address the crisis in Creswell, and decided to work with what she knows: food boxes.
During this crisis, Good Food Easy will drop off special CSA food boxes directly to Creswell residents in need. Standard cost is $25 per share (delivery included); senior citizens will receive a 10% discount, $22.50 per share.
While CSA members have to commit to at least four weeks of shares at a time, this program is a one-time purchase with no ongoing commitment. The boxes are non customizable, but Trappe said they won’t stick anything ”weird” like bok choy or kohlrabi in the boxes.
The boxes include fresh, organically grown veggies like sweet potatoes, red onions, apples and oranges and vary weekly. Trappe is also working on an add-on option that would include locally sourced eggs.
”We have some local products from nearby farmer friends – applesauce and apple Butter from SLO Farm in Eugene, roasted hazelnuts from My Brothers Farm in Creswell – as well as raisins and more fresh produce from Organically Grown Co.,” Trappe said. ”We plan to add even more options for next week.”
”At this time we are only offering deliveries to Creswell, it being our home community and where the need is greatest,” Trappe said. ”However, we are happy to work with you if you live in another outlying community or in a rural area.”
”Last week we delivered about $750 of organic produce to Creswellians,” Trappe said. ”It will be even more this week as we’re ramping up our capacity.”
