Area man arrested for assault

CRESWELL — A dispute between brothers landed one in jail after a fight broke out between the two on Camas Swale Road on March 4.
Lane County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police responded to the scene after a dispute on the property was reported.
Police showed up and Cody Torres, 24, of Creswell had barricaded himself inside a shed on the property and refused to come out, LCSO Sergeant Carrie Carver said.
LCSO “responded along with the Oregon State police, and we called out our special response team, who are trained specifically for situations like this.”
After lengthy negotiations through the shed door with Torres inside, he came out voluntarily, Carver said.
Torres was arrested and taken to the Lane County Jail and charged with fourth degree assault and for second degree unlawful use of mace.
