CRESWELL – Lexie Smith won another award for her patriotic essay for the VFW Patriot’s Pen scholarship program.
Lexie placed fifth in state competition after tying for first at the Creswell Post and taking first in judging at District. In addition to her previous awards, Lexie received a framed certificate, a medallion and checks totaling $800 from the state VFW and its Auxiliary.
