Four Creswell staff members received commendations from Superintendent Mike Johnson in recognition of their excellence in education, including three high school English teachers, Liz Babbs, Deborah Handman and Ginny Krzenski and English Language Development (ELD) Specialist and Coordinator Bethany Cross.
87% of 2018-19 high school students met English Language Arts (ELA) Oregon Statewide Assessment System (OSAS) proficiency standards, placing them at the top 10% of all high schools for ELA achievement.
Cross also received commendation after the Oregon Department of Education assessed the Creswell ELD program as ”excellent and a model program for other districts to emulate,” Johnson said. ”This is an exceptional report from ODR and worthy of recognition for excellence.”
