Four members of the Creswell team earned Mountain Valley Conference All-League honors for the 2019 season.
Junior outside hitter Breanna Dapron, senior setter Jenessa Mallory and senior libero Jane Marquess were named to the First Team; senior middle hitter Kylee Whitson was named to the Second Team.
Dapron led the Bulldogs in kills; she had 384 on the season, with a .203 hitting efficiency. She also served 13 aces, scooped 98 digs and had three stuff blocks.
”Breanna’s just been amazing all season,” said coach Anna Baltrusch.
Mallory provided 165 assists on the season and had 35 kills, with a .191 hitting efficiency. She collected 111 digs and served 17 aces with a 90% serving accuracy. She also had five stuff blocks.
”Jenessa’s been a really consistent setter, she’s served really tough all season, and has helped us out with some great blocks and kills,” Baltrusch said.
Marquess led the team in digs, with 159. She had 183 serve receives on 224 attempts and had 13 aces, a serving accuracy of 91%.
”Jane’s had a lot of games this season where she’s passed the ball almost perfectly and she’s been one of our toughest servers,” Baltrusch said.
Whitson had 71 kills with a .151 hitting accuracy, 42 digs and 7 aces with a 91.4 serving accuracy.
”All these girls have been great teammates to each other and the younger kids,” Baltrusch said. ”They’ve been great leaders and set a really good example for next year’s team.”
Kassie Staton, a senior outside hitter from Santiam Christian, was named Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year.
Named to the MVC All-League First Team were Staton, Dapron, Mallory and Marquess were Santiam Christian junior Emily Bourne, Santiam Christian senior Josie Risinger and Harrisburg senior Hope Bucher.
Joining Whitson on the Second Team were Harrisburg senior Mya Langley, Pleasant Hill sophomore Kloee Harris, Pleasant Hill senior Nikki Reeves, La Pine senior Olivia Flack, Harrisburg sophomore Jenna Traw and Santiam Christian senior Lauryn Penner.
Receiving Honorable Mention were Santiam Christian senior Shea Carley, La Pine senior Stephanie Westbrook, Harrisburg junior Jayda Knox and Pleasant Hill senior Rachel Blatch.
Kelli Fitzpatrick, head coach of the repeat 3A state champion Santiam Christian Eagles, was named Coach of the Year.
