Dear Editor,
I just wanted to write something in recognition of Kai Apo, Dallton Dewey, Tyler Frieze and Payden Criddle.
Time has flown by. I worked with all four of them at the middle school. They were great mentors to the Life Skills kids in the class I was working in.
They helped the kids with their reading and math and social skills, and most of all, taught some of them how to play basketball.
I thought Tyler and Kai were tall in the eighth grade and, man, was I was shocked to read in last week’s Chronicle that Kai is now 6 foot 3 inches. WOW.
They played all through sixth through eighth grade and now in high school.
I told them all they would go far after they graduated, that maybe they can earn scholarships and stuff.
