Mark Louis Johnson

Mark Louis Johnson, 58, of Creswell, Oregon, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 at his home. He was born on July 24,1961 in Astoria, Oregon to Gloria Jean Parker and Robert Reginald Johnson. He grew up in in Corvallis with his mother until the age of 7, when he moved to Syracuse, New York to live with his father.
Mark enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1979 and served for two years. After leaving the service, Mark traveled around the country doing various odd jobs.
He met and married his first wife, Debra White, in 1982. Mark and Debra had a son, Clinton, before separating.
Mark then went to college in Syracuse for a degree in computer science, where he met his soon-to-be wife Andrea Jane (Oakley) Johnson. They were married on Dec. 27, 1987 in Syracuse. They had two daughters together and were married for 33 years.
Mark and his family moved to Creswell in 1996 to run a local garbage company, P&J Disposal. Mark and Andrea owned and operated the business together for 16 years.
When Mark was able, he greatly enjoyed working with local kids. He coached a summer league softball team for eight years, was an assistant coach for the high school softball team, was at every sporting event his active daughters had, and was chaperone for every school event he could.
Mark’s greatest joy in life was being a father and watching his children grow, and becoming a grandfather and instilling his knowledge in his grandchildren.
His is survived by his wife, Andrea; his son, Clinton Grim; his two daughters, Ashley (Aaron) Kilday and Caitlin (Zac) Lober; his grandchildren, Caidence Grace and Seth Louis; his mother; and six siblings.
