Marvin Gowing
Marvin Dale Gowing, 84, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Aug. 16, 2019.
He was born in Eugene to parents Earl and Nellie (Vaughan) Gowing on April 6, 1935.
Marvin served in the Army National Guard and worked for 39 years for Weyerhaeuser, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and married Marie Yearous in Cottage Grove on July 1, 1956.
He loved fishing, training horses, hunting and hotrod cars.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie; daughter Kelly Daniels (Rick); son Jeff Gowing (Celia); sisters Nina Aubrey, Maxine Reed, and Wilma Ryder; brother Melvin Gowing; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life was held on Aug. 24, 2019. Arrangements by Smith Lund Mills Funeral Chapel of Cottage Grove.
