Kite Day shoots for the stars

Kids made their own delta kites and sent them soaring around Holt Park on July 24 during Creswell Library’s Kite Day, with former Creswell dentist and avid kite enthusiast, Dr. Richard Page. Crafted from plastic grocery bags, the kites’ triangular shape was reminiscent of the space shuttle, and kids could trace space shuttle, rocket or astronaut shapes onto the body of their kites before coloring them and getting assistance attaching spars, spreaders and line.
