Chronicle welcomes new intern

Living in Creswell for only a few months, I am already experiencing the beauty of what a small town has to offer.
Creswell is a tight-knit community, the kind of community where your neighbor borrows a cup of sugar and returns with a brand new bag. This kind of generosity was not given in other places I’ve lived.
Walking around in Creswell, you never know who you’ll stop and talk to, who you’ll meet. Being able to take a moment to enjoy a cup of coffee with a friendly face in the local coffee shop is something only Creswell has given me.
Being a full-time marketing student at Southern New Hampshire University has kept me busy with tests and papers, but it has been exciting to be interning at The Creswell Chronicle and Emerald Valley Magazine. My expertise and interests are social media marketing, blogging, writing and photography.
Noel, Cheryl, Erin and Andy are motivating and encouraging; they have taught me skills necessary for careers in marketing, advertising, publishing and graphic design. This experience has taught me to have an open mind and be ready to learn.
In life, we may not be the right fit for something, but our experiences lead us to gifts. Everyone needs to feel empowered and to know they can be whoever they want to be. Our dreams can come true if we feed our minds with positive thoughts.
My personal blog, blogdefiningyourcurves.wordpress.com, is about empowering women at any size. The blog describes my journey through being a plus-size model while not being tall enough to model runway.
My favorite pastime is taking spinning classes, hiking, going to museums, trying out local eateries and spending time with a good book. I enjoy taking photographs along the way and posting them to social media to get others encouraged to get outside and try something new.
