Board chooses top candidate

The Creswell School Board began contract negotiations late last week with its top candidate for the vacant superintendent position, and hopes to announce the selection at the June 5 board meeting, confirmed Steve Kelley, Oregon School Boards Association Director of Board Development and Executive Searches.
Results from the June 5 meeting, including information on the new superintendent, are available online at thecreswellchronicle.com.
The decision came after the two finalists, Michael Johnson and Sean Gallagher, visited the Creswell School District on May 28. The day consisted of community and school tours, a final interview and a staff/community forum.
The superintendent’s position became available with Todd Hamilton announced in March that he was leaving to take the same role with the Springfield School District.
