UO Ducks host 16-team Duck Invite at Emerald Valley

The University of Oregon Ducks golf team hosted their 30th Annual Duck Invite March 25-26 at Emerald Valley Golf Club. Sixteen college teams – including Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, Seattle, Washington State, Boise State, Denver, Nevada, Wyoming, Loyola Marymount, Long Beach State, San Francisco, San Diego State, San Jose State, Oral Roberts and Hawaii – competed in the tournament, playing three rounds of golf over two days.
At the end of Day 1, the Ducks foursome and the Oregon State Beavers foursome were tied for first place after each shooting a one-over-par 577. Oregon shot a two-under-par 286 in the morning and a three-over-par 291 in the afternoon; the Beavers shot a four-over-par 292 in the morning and a three-under-par 285 in the afternoon.
The UO’s Ryan Gronlund ended Day 1 second in the individual standings after shooting a two-under-par 142 after two rounds at 70 and 72 on the par-72 course.
Play concluded Tuesday.
Joining Gueant and Gronlund on the UO golf team roster are Marcel Boet, Sam Foust, Kevin Geniza, Donald Kay, Kymer Li, Thomas Mulligan, Tom Parker, Craig Ronne, Edwin Yi and Yin Ho Yue. Casey Martin is head coach of the Ducks; Brad Lanning is assistant coach.
