If a bear can dance, you can, too – Moveable Feet Teddy Bear Dance is March 15

THE MOVEABLE FEET TEDDY BEAR DANCE WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, MARCH 15 FROM 7 TO 9 P.M. AT CRESWELL GRANGE, LOCATED AT 298 W. OREGON AVE. PICTURED IS THE LAST DANCE, WHICH WAS HELD IN 2014. Photo provided

If you can walk, you can dance. And if you bring a teddy bear, you give comfort.
That’s the premise of this weekend’s Moveable Feet Teddy Bear Dance to be held on Friday, March 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Creswell Grange.
This dance is a benefit for WomenSpace, a group that provides resources, services and programs that empower survivors. WomenSpace works with communities to end intimate partner violence in Lane County and offers resources to Creswell residents.
All you have to do is bring a new teddy bear* to the dance.  There will be a dance involving the teddy bears. Then the stuffed animals are donated to WomenSpace to serve as a comfort object for the abused.
Live music on Friday will be performed by Moveable Fingers and includes Cecily Morris, Art Morris and Ruth Anne Fraley.
Ages Age 8 to adult are permitted. Younger kids can still participate in some of the dances, and there are toys for when they can’t. The dance is free, but donations for the hall rental and tips for the band are appreciated.
Note that the Grange Hall is not wheelchair-accessible, as it is upstairs.
*The teddy bears can be like new; can be other animal but please be sure it has front legs, paws or flippers.
The last time Movable Feet hosted this dance was in 2014.
