The coming-together of Creswell Wellness Center at 24 W. Oregon Ave. has been a serendipitous endeavour for owners Chelsea Pisani and Rachel Magnuson.
Pisani and Magnuson both worked for the late Dr. Tamara Blum at the previous Creswell Chiropractic practice – Pisani for eight years and Magnuson for 14.
After Dr. Blum’s passing in October 2018, Pisani said they couldn’t sleep. The two were sitting in the shell of the closed chiropractic office, wondering what would happen to the vacant space, to those customers in the void of Dr. Blum. Then, word got out that Tom Foust, owner of The Natural Path at 65 W. Oregon Ave., was retiring and closing up shop.
”We hated the idea of two Creswell gems lost in such a short amount of time,” Pisani said. ”We’ve cared for these people in some capacity for so long; we just couldn’t let it go.”
When they realized they could do something themselves with the space, the rest ”just happened.”
Magnuson and Pisani bought Foust’s inventory of vitamins, supplements, self-care items and homeopathic remedies. Through the government shutdown, the two and their working crew busted down walls, built new ones and redesigned the former chiropractic office.
Creswell Wellness Center opened on Feb. 18, with their grand opening slated for Saturday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., where people can drop in, check out the redesign and get introduced to the center’s services.
In addition to homeopathic remedies and natural medicines and supplements, there are also two licensed massage therapists onsite, Pisani and Amy Osborn. Additional services include waxing, facials, chemical peels and microdermabrasion. Faxing is also available onsite, and they also inherited Foust’s soda pop tab collection service and the vitamin bottle recycling service.
They are also currently searching for a chiropractor to fill Dr. Blum’s shoes, though Magnuson said that is no easy feat.
”We owe it to Dr. Blum and her customers to find someone to provide all the care she provided; she always went above and beyond for her clients,” Pisani said.
They also hope to have scooter, wheelchair and crutch rentals, as well as nutritional, aromatherapy and other wellness classes onsite soon.
The insurance acceptance process is underway, though they are still a couple months out. Their computer system, however, will make it easy to collect back information for insurance purposes.
Creswell Wellness Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays and by appointment. Appointments can be made online at creswellwellness.janeapp.com while their website is under construction.
