On Dec. 19 at the Cottage Grove Chamber Banquet Awards Dinner, supporters of the Cottage Grove Carousel Project were honored.
The Kimwood Corporation, a major machine manufacturer in the lumber and timber industry, was awarded Business of the Year.
”I am honored to have Kimwood Corporation selected as the business of the year,” Kris Woodard, senior general manager, said at the event. ”This honor must be shared with the many employees who have worked at Kimwood and (have) been a big part of its success over the last 67 years.”
Don Williams, Cottage Grove Carousel president, said, ”Kimwood is a strong supporter of the carousel project, and has contributed something like $22,000 in reengineering and rebuilding all the bearings for the carousel.”
Also at the event, Russ McGuire, project engineer of the Cottage Grove Carousel, was awarded Civic Achievement Award.
