Opal Louise Cook

OPAL LOUISE COOK – FEB. 1, 1936-NOV. 11. 2018

Opal Louise Cook, 82, of Creswell, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 11, 2018.
Louise was born Feb. 1, 1936 in Myrtle Point. She graduated from Myrtle Point High School in 1954 and married her high school sweetheart, Richard (Dick) Cook that Valentine’s Day.
Opal and Dick had four children, Judy, Ric, Joy and Janet, and brought nephew Jayson into their hearts and family. They have lived in Creswell since 1961.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Celia Southmayd, step-dad Ed Russell, and brothers Lewis and Jim.
She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Richard, and their children, Judy and Bruce Bond of Vale, Ric and Terri Cook of Junction City, Joy and John Gross of Lynnwood, Wash., Janet and Art Wigton of Creswell, Jayson and Misty Southmayd of Creswell, her sister Becky and Don Wilson of Grangeville, Idaho, and many grandchildren and their families, including several great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 at 3 p.m. at The Creswell Church of Christ. Memorial donations may be made to Grove Christian Camp.
