Creswell Middle School opens football season 2-0

After opening their season at home last week against the Monroe Dragons with a strong 37-6 victory, Creswell traveled to Junction City to face Oaklea Middle School football team.
Creswell controlled the game early, smothering the Junction City offense while also keeping the Junction City defense on its heels throughout the game. Like Monroe last week, Junction City scored in the closing minutes of the game. The final score was Creswell 48, Junction City 8.
 The Tigers offense leaders included Conner Hanson, who carried the ball nine times for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns. Traejon Roberts carried the ball six times for 31 yards and two touchdowns and Maysen Scovil carried the ball six times for 19 yards. Tyler Bowers had one carry for 45 yards and a touchdown.
 Roberts completed both pass attempts for 75 yards and a touchdown to Hanson; Hanson also returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown.
 The defensive leaders for the Tigers included Juan Beltran with nine solo tackles, Roberts with seven solo tackles and an interception. Hanson with seven solo tackles and one sack. Alex Herrington had four solo tackles and one interception. Cade Dimmick also had an interception. Multiple tackles were recorded by Bowers, Parker Paquette, Scovil, Cayden Cox, Zachary Raymond-Farmer, Tyler Pratt, John Cheechov and Tayson Honer.
Next Game is Thursday, Oct. 11 at home and versus Pleasant Hill.
