There will be classes, displays and hands-on learning in a friendly, low-key setting that will strengthen one’s goat confidence and know-how. This program is sponsored by the OSU Extension Service Small Farms program and Emerald Dairy Goat Association.
Session topics include cheese making for the home dairy, common diseases in goats, managing internal parasites, raising goats for meat, getting started with milk certification, herbal nutrition and health, the 123’s of milking and more. A demonstration of how to make a milking stand out of PVC pipe will also take place during the lunch break.
The registration fee is $25 per person, or $40 for two people from the same farm. Pre-registration is required for this event, as space is limited.
