We’re looking forward to welcoming Bethany Cotton, Cascadia Wildlands Conservation Director, for a presentation about Oregon’s Wolves – Facts, Myth-Busting, and Conservation Opportunities.

Though Bethany grew up in a cabin in rural southern Oregon in wolf habitat, she did not see a wolf in the wild until she was in her 30s in Yellowstone. She has a law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School with certificates in Environmental and Natural Resources and Animal Law. After working for Greenpeace, the Center for Biological Diversity, and WildEarth Guardians, Bethany came home to the Cascadia bioregion during the early days of COVID and joined Cascadia Wildlands as their Conservation Director, where she leads the organization’s wildlife, state and federal policy and local climate work. She recently stepped down from 4 years on the steering committee of the Pacific Wolf Coalition and will speak with us today about wolves in Oregon and the pacific west.

We host these family-friendly events on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 5-7pm at the Axe & Fiddle, 657 E. Main Street in Cottage Grove.
Events begin with informal socializing, trivia, and updates about the watershed and watershed council. The Science on Tap presentation begins at 6pm.

The event is free to the public, with a $5 donation suggested.
