May Science on Tap – Optimal Tree Planting for Climate Change featuring Erik Burke
Join us on Tuesday, May 27th at the Axe and Fiddle Public House from 5 to 7 PM for a presentation on Optimal Tree Planting for Climate Change featuring Erik Burke, Eugene Director of Friends of Trees.
Erik has been volunteering planting and caring for trees and native plants in Eugene and Springfield since 1986, and working professionally as an arborist since 2008. Erik is director of the Eugene-Springfield chapter of Friends of Trees and has worked as an arborist and in the tree planting program at Sperry Tree Care for 3 years. He will talk about different approaches to tree planting in cities, and focus on a regionally adaptive approach.
We host these family-friendly events on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 5-7pm at the Axe & Fiddle, 657 E. Main St. in Cottage Grove.
Events begin with informal socializing, trivia, and updates about the watershed and watershed council. The Science on Tap presentation begins at 6pm.
The event is free to the public, with a $5 donation suggested.
