PLEASANT HILL – Pleasant Hill football coach Jeremiah Heacock resigned after the end of the 2024 season, athletic director Kyle McClain and Heacock confirmed. There was no official date on the resignation, and the position was posted on the Pleasant Hill School District website on Dec. 4, 2024.
“I appreciate Jeremiah’s time and effort that he put into our program,” McClain said. “He took over a winless program and in the last two years he had four or five wins every year. We had a goal of making the playoffs, and we were really close under Jeremiah’s guidance. I couldn’t be more thankful for the time and effort he put in. I wish him luck for everything he ends up with if he continues to coach.”
After two decades as an assistant coach at Class 5A powerhouse Thurston High School, Heacock embarked on his own journey and branched out to Class 3A Pleasant Hill in 2022. At the time, its football program had a winless season for the first time in 14 years. He departs Pleasant Hill after three years at the helm with a 10-17 record.

Heacock declined to comment for this story, other than to say that “an article on the new coach hiring will be great in the coming months.”
The Billies were 3-6 overall and sixth in the Special District 3 this past season.
Pleasant Hill becomes the second school in The Chronicle’s coverage area to announce a football coaching vacancy. Creswell athletic director Brandon Standridge said in November that Scott Worsham had resigned after eight years leading the Bulldogs’ program. That job is in the process of being posted, Standridge said. Creswell finished 4-5 this past season, which included a 49-0 victory over Harrisburg for Homecoming.
