Creswell and Cottage Grove residents on Tuesday are being asked to renew South Lane Fire and Rescue District’s funding levy, raising nearly $6.3 million for fire prevention and ambulance services.
Over the past two decades, the levy has funded multiple full-time positions and 24/7 ambulance service to Cottage Grove and Creswell — and is a key source of funding for the South Lane Fire and Rescue District. Measure 20-278 — a renewal of a 47 cents per $1,000 of assessed value levy — was described as necessary by Division Chief Joe Raade.  . . .
